  • Demonstration plots at TFRI campus:  Demonstrated  9 Species specific including Gmelina arborea, Santalum album, Tectona grandis, Haldina cordifolia, Bamboos, Litsea glutinosa, Casurina, Buchnania cochichinesis and Swetinia mahogany.

A. New Van Vigyan Kendra

1. VVK, Indore, Madhya Pradesh:

Following activities done at VVK, Indore

  1. Established New VVK at Indore and signed MoU to initiate activities under the Van Vigyan Kendra on 25th July 2024.
  2. Organized two trainings on “Bio fertilizer and its application” on 25th July 2024 and  ‘Application of Soil Health Card and Application of Jivamrit in Forestry’ and  Importance of GIS  in mapping of agroforestry plantation’ on  20th June 2025  for farmers and forest officials of  Indore (M.P.) under Van Vigyan Kendra.
  3. Prepared Posters to disseminate the ‘TFRI Technologies’ among the stakeholders to adopt and benefit to generate additional income through forestry interventions under the VVK, Indore.

2. VVK, Chandrapur, Maharashtra:

  1. Established New VVK at Chandrapur Forest Academy, Chaandrapur and signed one MoU between ICFRE - TFRI and Chandrapur Forest Academy  on 22nd March2024.
  2.  Nodal Officer, VVK, Chandrapur Forest Acedemy along with DFO, Modern Nursery interacted with Scientist and visited their field trials, established at TFRI  from 9th to 10th May2024.
  3. Upgraded Nursery to Modern nursery and a total of 5500 plants of Dendrocalamus strictus, Madhuca longifolia,Terminalia arjun,Tamarindus indica, Azadirachta indica were produced and distributed among the farmers of adjoining villages of Chandrapur district.
  4. Inaugurated Extension Hall of VVK and display boards in the extension hall, VVK,Chandrapur extension material
  5. Publication of extension material
  6. Organized Five trainings  at VVK, Chandrapur (MH)

3.VVK, Chhindwara (M.P.):

  • Renovated nursery to Modern Nursery, constructed Poly house and produced Produced 1000 plants of A.racemosus, A. vasica,R. serpentine, A. calamus, P. emblica, G. sylvestre, T. cordifolia and distributed  810  to the Farmers, SHGs, Anganwadi workers.
  • Organized trainings for the Anganwadi workers on Moringa products
  • Prepared and published extension material on Munga (Hindi and Marathi)
  • Established display board

B. DEMO VILLAGE:

  • Trained and live demo was organized  for the stakeholders including women SHGs last year and Mushroom production was started and sold to the near by market and to TFRI employees @ Rs. 200 per KG.
  • Organized one day training cum demonstration programme on ‘Madhumakhi Palan’ 25th September 2024 to the Frontline staff and Women SHGs at Shikara village  and established Honey Boxes for honey production Monitoring is going on and advisory also issued to the  officials.
  • Established and maintained demo  plantations of  improved variety of Melia dubia, Teak clones and 12 species of Medicinal plants at Banjari  Demo village on 19th July 2024
  • Developed Check dam to improve Irrigation facilities.
  • Established Display Board of extension activities.

     TECHNOLOGIES DEMONSTRATED  at TDC, TFRI MUSEUM  CUM INTERPRETATION CENTRE

  1. Processing of Medicinal plants- Display of different dryer.
  2. Sustainable harvesting protocols – Arjun(Terminalia arjuna), Mohul(Madhuca longifolia), Chirnozi(Buchanania lanzan), Guggul(Commiphora wightii), karonda(Carissa carandas).
  3. Value addition of NTFPs – Morniga chocolate, Mahua chocolate, Mosquito repellent, Agarbatti, Biscuits, karonda (Carissa carandas).
  4. Display of important medicinal plants (wet preservation)
  5. Display of seeds of forest species
  6. Display of different sustainable harvesting protocols through animation film (TV installed in museum)
  7. Essential oil extraction.

  • Participated and presented significant achievements of TFRI through models and charts during First Mahakoshal Vigyan Mela from 15th to 18th November,2024  as organized by Mahakoshal Vigyan Parishad in coordination with IIITDM, Jabalpur and MPCST, Bhopal (MP).
  • Participated in the “Vindhya Mela 2025”, on 19/01/2025 as organized by Vindhya Sanskritik Manch, Jabalpur at Royal Heritage Public School. Dr. Nanita Berry, Head, Manoj Joshi STO, Shelendra Chandeli LIA, Saurabh Dubey, TO, Nikhil Kumar Patle, PA, Pradeep, JPF, Nandu Rajput, MTS Co-ordinated the exhibition.
  • Participated and Director TFRI was invited as Chief Guest during ‘Prakriti Mahakumbha’ as organized by FRC, Prayagraj on 24th January2025.
  • Participated in “Kisan Mela 2025on 18 Feb 2025 as organized by ICAR – Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur (MP).

  • Organized Monthly Seminar on “Innovation in Agro forestry Research” talk was delivered by Eminent Scientist Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Chauhan, Director, Research, Y.S. Parmar Agriculture University, Solan (H.P) on 31/05/2024

       ORGANIZED IMPORTANT DAYS

  • Organized and celebrated World Earth Day 2024 on 22nd April2024 on the theme Planet vs Plastics. Various activities including removal of plastics from roadside of  the Vanvidhyalaya campus, Lakhnadon, promotion of eco friendly products and film show on conservation of Tiger by saving forest- mother earth were carried out. The event was successfully conducted by the Dr. Nanita Berry, Head, FE division and Shri Gopal Singh, SDO, Lakhnadon.
  • Organized and celebrated International Day for Biological Diversity, 2024” with the theme “Be part of the Plan” by conducting a series of events on 22 May, 2024.
  • Organized and  celebrated World Environment Day on 05.06.2024 by conducting  many activities Painting, plantation and Swachhata Rally.
  • Organized plantation of commercially valuable 50 species  by Dr. H.S. Ginwal, Director and SDO, Lakhnadon at Van vidhyalaya with the students of class 9th to 12th , Govt H.S. School Lakhnadon (MP) on 19th July2024.
  • Organized plantation drive under the mission of  ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and Ficus plant was planted at TFRI residential campus by Dr.HS Ginwal, Director on 18/07/2024.

‘Bird Watching’ to the students on 08/10/2024 to create awareness on Bird residing in TFRI campus

  • Organized and celebrated 76th Republic Day 2025 on 26th Janury2025 and Dr. H. S. Ginwal, Director, ICFRE-TFRI unfurled the National Flag  during the event.
  • Organized and celebrated International Forest Day on the theme of Food and Forest, on 21st March2025 at ICFRE-TFRI for 110 school students of Kendriya Vidhyalaya, TFRI and PM Shree Govt. High School, Saliwada, demonstrations on Sandalwood based agroforestry system, Botanical Garden and Museum and Interpretation centre. Also showed two movies on ‘Van evam adivasi jan jivan and Mushroom Cultivation’ on the theme of Forest and Food’ of the International Forest Day. An exhibition on Forest Based Products made by NABARD, Kundam and VanDhan Samiti, Lakhnadon was also organized during the event.
